    Meeting friends, making memories and creating dance magic—The Neutral Bay School of Dance is dedicated to providing a secure and productive environment where students of all ages and ability can express themselves. Whether it's Glee-style performance classes or strong, technique based ballet workshops, The Neutral Bay School of Dance provides unsurpassed dance education which focuses on bringing out the best in each student.


    The Neutral Bay School of Dance has been operating since 1980, making it the longest running dance school on the Lower North Shore. Recognising the importance of technique combined with personal expression, the school offers a comprehensive program all taught by enthusiastic and highly experienced industry professionals.


    Accommodating beginner to advanced students, The Neutral Bay School of Dance has classes in classical ballet (RAD), lyrical contemporary, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, singing, technique and conditioning at all levels of study for Kindy age to young adult. Tiny dancers aged 3 to 5 years can choose from ballet or jazz. All classes are taught within our equipped studios and parents are encouraged to watch the last ten minutes of each class as well as joining us at the end of term 1 and 3 for open week.


    With 2 of our venunes located just 5 minutes walk from Neutral Bay Public School, the school offers a 'walking bus' service where students can be collected from Neutral Bay Public School and escorted to dance class and back to after school care. All these services and more, continue to make The Neutral Bay School of Dance the number one choice for students of the arts to learn, grow and develop through dance.


    The school offers:
    • Ballet classes in the RAD syllabus with the opportunity to enter examinations.
    • Open classes: (no exam) in jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, contemporary, glee club (singing and dance), technique and conditioning.
    • Mid year performance: an informal showcase which acts as a fundraiser for our charity Monikas Doggie Rescue.
    • End of year Performance: formal performance held at the Shore Performing Arts Centre in North Sydney.
    • Performance Group and solo choreography for eisteddfods and community events.
    • Workshops with high profile professional dancers and choreographers.

    2017 Fees


    Pre School Ballet = $165 inc GST per term (2 teachers are present for all pre school classes)
    1 hour class per week = $165 inc GST per term
    30 min class per week = $82.50 inc GST per term
    2nd class per week receives 5% discount
    3rd class per week receives 5% discount
    4th class per week receives 5% discount
    Students taking 4 classes per week can receive their 5th and 6th class free of charge.
    7th class per week receives 5% discount
    8th class per week receives 5% discount
    Students taking 8 classes per week can receive their 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class free of charge. Casual Class $22 inc GST

    Extra Costs


    Walking Bus = $5 inc GST per pick up, charged by the term.
    Children are collected from Neutral Bay Public School Kindy at 3.10pm or Bydown St at 3.15pm and walked to Neutral Bay School of Dance (St Josephs Hall or NBC) or collected from NBSOD and walked to NBPS after school care.
    Performance Group (to cover rehearsals, costume hire, eisteddfod entry) = POA performance groups are selected at the end of term 2.
    Mid Year Performance, participation fee $5 inc GST, recording fee (Glee Club only charged in term 2 ) $8 to $15 inc GST per student
    End of Year Performance (to cover costume hire and stage rehearsal costs) = $65 inc GST for each dance performed in the end of year concert paid once in term 3
    (note: technique classes will not perform a separate dance in the concert)other concert costs will include tickets $30 to 40, recording fee (Glee Club only charged in term 3 ) $8 to $15, DVD (optional) $35. Professional Photo (optional)$15, you may also be asked to provide correct shoes and stockings.

  • Teachers
    Jennifer Craddock

    Director, dedicated dance professional and qualified pilates instructor Jennifer Craddock has been teaching dance and performing professionally for over 20 years. She has worked for some of the industry's most well known and respected choreographers and directors for countless major events such as MTV Music Awards, Aria Awards, Arena Tour 'Long Way to the Top, 'Tour of Duty' concert for the troops stationed in Dili, Australian Fashion Week, NYE Lord Mayors Ball and the Centenary of Federation Concert. Performing as a back up dancer for international artists including Kylie Minogue, Dannii Minogue, Macy Gray, Cyndi Lauper, Caroline O'Connor, Marica Hines, Sophie Monk and Jared Leto. Working both internationally and within Australia Jennifer's professional success led her to hold teaching positions for several years in a variety of established dance institutions such as Sydney Dance Company community classes, ED5 International fulltime diploma courses and The McDonald College of Performing Arts.

    In 2002, Jennifer began teaching at The Neutral Bay School of Dance and took over as Director in 2010 building on the foundations of excellence the school has established. Expanding the curriculum, Jennifer's positive teaching techniques challenge and nurture each individual student's talent and ability. For her, the focus is on building nurturing relationships with each of her students while having fun and growing artistically.

  • Francesca Gozdek

    Francesca Gozdek teaches Tuesday and Wednesday Lyrical Contemporary classes. She was born in Italy where she trained full time in classical, jazz, hip hop and her favourite style of dance, modern contemporary. Upon leaving Italy Francesca spent time in Los Angeles training at the Edge Performing Arts Centre and London at Pineapple Dance Studios where she was under the guidance of world renowned choreographers and teachers. Now residing in Sydney Francesca continues her dance training whenever possible and is currently studying to become qualified to teach both Yoga and Pilates.

    Francesca has enjoyed a full professional career that includes collaborating with European choreographer Sara Buratti, dancing in countless concept video’s and short films produced in Italy and London and she is currently a member of Australian dance company Twisted Element. Francesca has been teaching dance for over 10 years, she has experience with all levels and ages and adores creating choreography that encourages her student’s to be free, she believes giving them a good understanding of contemporary technique will allow them to express themselves further and have fun story telling through dance.

  • Nerida Harrison

    Nerida Harrison started her Classical Ballet training at the age of 5 and went on to complete all of her RAD Examinations, during this time she was a member of the Young Entertainer's Company and Rhythm 'n' Motion – both groups were popular and provided Nerida with a fantastic foundation for performing. After finishing her studies she travelled to Japan to perform as a professional dancer.

    Upon returning Nerida gained employment in the Recruitment Industry and worked her way to Branch Manager before having her own Recruitment Consultancy in Balmain. After many years in the corporate sector, Nerida then decided to gain her Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Licence and has been teaching for dance schools in Sydney since 1998. These include, Brent St Performing Arts, Warringah Performing Arts, Dance North Academy, Ecole Classique, Alegria, Rachel Dykstra, Valerie Smith Stage School and she is currently teaching at Redlands Ballet & Dance Academy.

    Nerida has been entering students for RAD Ballet Examinations for over 15 years, focusing on Pre-Primary to Grade 8, Intermediate Foundation & Intermediate Levels. Nerida brings a very grounded and disciplined approach to teaching and her students regard her as "an encouraging teacher who is enthusiastic about each Childs' learning and the benefits of movement to music and mime".

  • Anastasia Jackson

    Anastasia Jackson will be teaching Open Ballet and Pointe, Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet grades Grade 1, Grade 3 and Intermediate Foundation. Anastasia has trained extensively completing all vocational RAD examinations with high distinctions, she is a local girl who attended the dance program at Redlands before moving on to 2 year’s classical training with the Conlan College where she was accepted into their selective full-time programme and taught by prestigious international and local teachers completing her academic studies through Sydney Distance Education. Later she moved to the Sydney Ballet School’s full-time programme to continue her classical training before completing her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the RAD and becoming a registered teacher. Anastasia gained her teaching experience by freelancing at various schools across Sydney. She covers a wide range of dance styles, age groups and skill levels. She is experienced in preparing students for exams, auditions and competitions, and loves to choreograph for all ages and levels. Anastasia has been teaching ballet for NBSOD since 2014, she is enthusiastic, thorough and brings a wonderful warm energy to class.

  • Holly Finch

    Holly Finch teaches our Wednesday Jazz classes. She is a professional dancer who started her training at the age of 5 with a strong focus on Jazz, Contemporary and RAD ballet. Holly enjoys any opportunity to train and extend her knowledge. At the age of 18 she moved to Sydney to study full-time at ‘Ettingshausens' on a partial scholarship. Here she completed her certificate IV in dance. At her graduation she was awarded a scholarship to participate in the International Student Visa Program at Broadway Dance Centre in New York City, giving her the opportunity for intense training under the direction of world renowned teachers and educators. Holly’s performance credits include Celebrity Cruises ‘Millennium’ plus several commercial and corporate performances across Australia and New Zealand. Holly holds a teacher’s certificate from the American Jazz Dance Affiliation and is skilled in delivering beginner to advanced classes in the styles of Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Technique and Conditioning. She has taught ages 5 to 18 for many years and finds sharing her love of dance with others most rewarding.

  • Stephanie Der

    Stephanie Der’s training started at a very young age with RAD classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance at Alegria Dance Studios. She also studied acrobatics at Academy of Acrobatics and Gymnastics International (AAGI). Finding a love for acrobatics Stephanie increased her gymnastics training and went on to represent NSW and place in several National competitions. She has been coaching at AAGI and Gladesville RSL Gymnastics for 3 years and attained her Intermediate Acrobatics Coaching Certificate in 2013. Stephanie teaches acrobatics to NBSOD students year 6 and under, her friendly nature, patience and eye for detail make her classes one that our dancers love.

  • Ainsley Oates

    Ainsley Oates absolutely adores Singing and Musical Theatre and started her training in local theatre productions at a very young age. Brimming with enthusiasm she was invited to be a part of the Talent Development Project where she worked with performers such as Jackie Love and Peter Cousens. Ainsley graduated from ED5International in 2013 with a Diploma of Performing Arts, (majoring in Voice) where she has since taught private singing students. A big believer in continuing to develop her craft she is consistently seeking courses and lessons with esteemed vocal coaches such as Pat H Wilson (vocal coach of Hi-5) and Kym Parrish. She has taken several short courses with, NIDA, The Actors Studio, and Screen Acting Classes with SSAG and SAC. She believes there is always more to learn and loves to pass this knowledge on to her students.

    Some of Ainsley’s performing credits include: 2013 Premiers Concert at Sydney Entertainment Centre, Club Entertainer/Vocalist with Control, Back-Up vocalist for Robbie Williams Tribute Show, Trailers for children’s show “The Party Pirates”, Wedding Vocalist with Voci D’Amore.

    Ainsley hopes to help others grow through the craft she loves so much, teaching young students is one of her passions and she is very excited to be part of the NBSOD teaching staff.

  • Tanya Chodasewicz

    Tania Chodasewicz teaches Friday Hip Hop. Tania has been dancing for over 20 years. Starting with Jazz she soon expanded her dance repertoire with Ballet, Tap, Irish, Contemporary and Hip Hop.

    Tania completed her University Degree of BA Arts Major in Dance to develop her knowledge of movement, rhythms and music. While she has followed her great passion for Tap by training with both national and international choreographers and artists, she has also pursued her love of Hip Hop. Tania performed at numerous events with her Hip Hop crew NYA including Sydney Koren Festival, Chinese New Year Parade, Battlegrounds Hip Hop competition, numerous video clips including Sydney’s #ThatsHowSydneyBURNITUP and both performed and choreographed routines for Australia’s Independent Artist Ramos Jakob. Tania teaches both adult open classes and kid’s at several dance schools around Sydney.

    For Tania, teaching is all about the children. Seeing them grow and develop as dancers, watching them shine in class as they learn new steps and seeing the joy in their eyes as they have fun and get fit in her class.

  • Chloe Wong

    Chloe Wong teaches our Tuesday jazz classes, she is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (High School)/Education, majoring in Dance and minoring in Theatre and Performance studies. 2017 sees Chloe in her final semester of studies that will make her a qualified High school teacher. Chloe has been dancing since the age of 4, with many years spent with Janice Breen Performance Groups like the Wiggles, Hi-5, Carols in the Domain and various Eisteddfod’s. Since embarking on her tertiary studies she has been focusing on education, teaching in various Dance schools across Sydney. As well as teaching for NBSOD Chloe is working in pre-school dance education at Oztots and as an instructor for Raw Energy Dance Education (REDed). Chloe believes in a diverse, energetic, enthusiastic, and fun environment that builds students confidence through the use of dance, with elements of theatre intertwined within.

  • Kirsty Arnold

    Kirsty Arnold is a highly experienced classical / contemporary dancer and mum of two, she teaches our Friday Pre School Ballet classes. She holds an Associate Degree in Dance from QUT and has performed professionally on an international scale. For over a decade she worked in London alongside some of the most innovative and well-recognised professionals including Matthew Bourne, Michael Clarke, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Matthew Hawkins and Emma Diamond. A lover of dance, she co-founded the production company Artelier and has extensive experience producing, choreographing and teaching dance and ballet. For her, dance is a wonderful form of creative expression and whether beginner or advanced, child or adult, all of her students benefit from her caring and patient nature.

  • Jaimelee Marasigan

    Jaimelee Marasigan teaches Grade 4 and 5 RAD ballet on Saturdays. She has trained in a variety of styles from the age of three including RAD Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary dance.  She holds a double degree of a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) / Bachelor of Education from the UNSW and has completed her Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance making her a fully qualified RAD teacher. Jaimelee’s professional performances include The Sydney Festival, Kerri Anne Kennerley (Channel 10) and The World Cup Opening Ceremony – her professional dance experience combined with her extensive training in dance education has given her the tools to provide classes that are full of detail and dedication to excellence. Jaimelee loves to share her passion for dance and hopes to educate and inspire her students, giving them the knowledge and talent necessary to pursue their dreams.
